Quick Review of Paris Fishing Show 2011

 In Fly Fishing Gears, News

This year was another  great edition of the Paris Fishing Show. I was there on saturday morning at the opening of the gate.  A short queue of fans was waiting for the gate to open.

Once in I had the opportunity to visit various booths.

The first booth I made a stop at was the professional fly tyers,  where I met  Igor Stancev, a professional since 1991. from Macedonia. He was presenting a large range of its own creation and framed flies. Here is a little set of flies examples I saw at his booth:

Igor Stancev is very passionate about his work and will be more than happy to answer you requests or questions about fly tying.

La Boutique Zpey

For their first time on the Show, La Boutique Zpey presented their range of rods, reels and materials.

On the booth I had the chance to have a chat with Henrik Mortensen, (internationally known Professional Angler, Fly Caster, Designer Instructor and Author). He has produced the following DVDs  The Perfect CastDistance and DelicacyCracking the CodeThe Scandinavian Spey CastThe Scandinavian Spey Cast 2 and Patterns of Patagonia.

I would definitely love to  participate to one of his hosted trip around the globe!!

Henrik and myself.

On the Zpey booth I also met Morten Bundgaard who was presenting his brand: ProFlyTyer Fly tying materials. These tubes offer a great sizing and weighting flexiblity and come with a range of 16 different colors.  Coneheads are also available in different sizes from Micro to Monster with the same set of colors.

These materials seemed very well manufactured and are definitely worth a try.

Morten Bundgaard showing me the great power of its tube materials.

Fish Bone presents on the show as well had a great set of custom fly rods on ther booth, some amazigly beautiful artwork. Check out their web gallery where  you will find pictures of the rods I saw there. Really cool stuff!!!

Check this one: the Snake Skin Rod!!

I spent there 3 hours looking around every booth and definitly think that the fly fishing industry has a really promising future as most of the booths of the 2011 Fishing Show Edition were related to Fly Fishing.

Great news for all of us aficionados!!
