Fly Fishing goes Mobile

 In News

Ruoto For Fly Fishing have recently published a very promising Android mobile application for fly fishing and fishing aficionados. It is called “Kalassa”. The main area that is being mapped is currently Finland, but not limited to this country. I believe that in the near future, it will be possible to add landmarks in other countries as well. And one more important thing, it is free !!

This app simply allows you to add landmarks of fireplaces, fishing spots, fishing events, and pictures of trophy catches. It will help you to find out where you can park your carnear fishing places, get your boat in the water, and even find close by accomodation. Pictures can also be added in addition to the landmarks. The application is strongly based on the ability for people to add and share their own landmarks with all the other users which makes it a very participative and intuitive to use.

I am very excited by the features of this application, and I could see that the next step for the guys from Ruoto would be to add some cool Augmented Reality functionality as an extra service. That would be so cool!

The only thing to be aware of is that according to your mobile operator, the data traffic may generate extra costs, but it is worth it!!!

The application can be downloaded from the Android Market:
